March’s Tuesday Evening Project is learning a new beading technique - peyote stitch by creating a lanyard!

The tentative plan for April's Tuesday Evening project is Capote making! Participants will need to provide their own wool blanket (does not need to be an HBC), fabric scissors, clothes pins, and a pen or marker.

We're Hiring: Programs & Community Coordinator

Our MIKI’SIW Métis Community is seeking a caring, organized, and community-minded individual to join our team as a Programs & Community Coordinator.

 

This role is central to how our community stays connected. It supports members, coordinates programs and communications, and helps ensure that people feel informed, welcomed, and supported when engaging with our community.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinating registrations for programs, workshops, and events

  • Sending reminders, updates, and follow-up emails to participants

  • Monitoring and responding to community emails in a timely and respectful manner

  • Creating and distributing monthly newsletters and occasional specialty communications

  • Updating website content and supporting social media posts

  • Assisting community members with applications and questions

  • Serving as a friendly, welcoming point of contact for members and visitors

  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day flow of office and community communications

 

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Enjoys working with and supporting community

  • Is organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks

  • Communicates clearly and kindly, both written and verbal

  • Is comfortable using email, basic website tools, and social media

  • Respects Métis culture, values, and community protocols

  • Has experience in administration, communications, or community work (an asset, not a requirement)

     

Hours, start date, and compensation to be discussed. Training and transition support will be provided.
